Fixed-price offer · £14,950 + VAT
Launch your app in six weeks
An iOS and Android app with the backend behind it, built by a senior engineering team rather than juniors. £14,950 + VAT, with the scope agreed in writing before we start.
What you get
A working app in the stores, not a prototype
The 6-Week App Launch is for founders and businesses who want a real app in customers' hands quickly, built properly the first time. You work directly with the senior engineers who write the code. There's no account manager in between and no junior team learning on your project.
We keep the scope tight: one type of user and one main journey, done well. That is usually enough to test an idea with real customers, replace a manual process or give existing customers a better way to deal with you.
- One app for iPhone and Android, built from one shared codebase
- Up to six core screens around one main user journey
- Sign-in, push notifications and basic analytics
- A backend API and database on AWS, built with Java
- A simple admin page to manage users or content
- App Store and Google Play submission, with store listings set up
- 30 days of bug fixes after launch
- All code, accounts and documentation handed over to you

Before week 1Design & set-up
Screen flow, visual style, accounts, code repositories and the cloud environment.
Week 1Build
The app and API built in short cycles, with a new test build for you each week.
Weeks 2 to 4Test & beta

Week 5Launch & handover
Store submission, launch support and a handover call covering the code and accounts.
Week 6

Who builds it
Enterprise engineering, applied to your app
Techlina is a senior engineering team led by founder Saad Malik. Our engineers have spent more than a decade in delivery teams for organisations including the Home Office, HMRC, the Ministry of Defence, Mastercard and Volkswagen. The same standards apply to a six-week app: tested code, secure cloud set-up and documentation your next developer can follow.
Recent build: Brumly, a West Midlands transport app built in-house for iPhone and Android, with a Java backend.
Read the Brumly case study- One shared codebase for iPhone and Android
- Java for the API: the enterprise technology banks and government rely on
- PostgreSQL, Docker and AWS for data and hosting
- Automated tests and a repeatable release process
Is it right for you?
A good fit, and when it isn't
A good fit if you
- Want to test an idea with real users quickly
- Need a customer or staff app for an existing business
- Want code and accounts you fully own
- Prefer to deal directly with the engineers
Probably not the right fit if you
- Need a full marketplace or social network on day one
- Haven't decided what the app should do yet. Start with the Scoping Sprint instead
- Want the lowest possible price. Template app builders cost less
Common questions
Your questions, answered
How does this compare with typical UK app prices?
Most UK studios charge considerably more than this for a first app, and established agencies often start higher still. Our guide How much does an app cost in the UK? breaks down the market and what pushes prices up.
Why six weeks?
Six weeks is long enough to build one well-defined journey properly and short enough to get real feedback quickly. The Scoping Sprint fixes the scope first, so the timeline is realistic.
What if I need more than six screens?
We either move features to a second phase or quote a larger build. You always see the price before any extra work starts.
Is it a native or cross-platform app?
We build from one shared codebase that runs on iPhone and Android, using a modern cross-platform framework. It suits most business apps and keeps maintenance costs down. If your app needs something only fully native code can do, we tell you during scoping.
Who owns the code?
You do. The code repositories, cloud account and store listings are set up in your name or transferred to you at handover. Apple and Google developer account fees are paid by you, directly to them.
What if Apple or Google rejects the app?
We fix any issues the reviewers raise at no extra cost. Review times are set by Apple and Google, so the exact launch date depends partly on them.
What happens after launch?
Thirty days of bug fixes are included. After that you can take the code to any developer, or choose a monthly support plan with us.
Do you work with businesses in Birmingham and the West Midlands?
Yes. Techlina is based in Solihull, a short drive from Birmingham city centre, and we meet clients across the West Midlands in person. We also work remotely with clients across the UK.
